Vietnam visa fees for Romanian passport holder
Do Romanian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
Yes, Romanian citizens require a visa to enter Vietnam. Fortunately, they have several options for obtaining a visa, depending on their travel plans and desired length of stay.
1. Single Entry eVisa (recommended for tourist and business trips):
This electronic visa is the simplest and fastest option for most Romanian travelers. It allows you to stay in Vietnam for a single entry up to 30 days.
Application Process:
- Online application: Apply through the official Vietnam e-Visa website.
- Required documents:
- Passport scan (valid for at least 6 months after the intended arrival date in Vietnam).
- Recent digital photo (headshot).
- Payment for the visa fee (processing fee varies depending on visa validity).
- Approval process: After submitting your application, you will receive an email notification within 3-5 working days. If approved, you will receive an Approval Letter, which you must print and keep with you while traveling.
- Entry into Vietnam: Upon arrival at any international airport in Vietnam, present your passport, Approval Letter, and completed landing card to the Immigration Officer. You will receive your official visa stamp at the airport.
2. Traditional Visa:
For stays exceeding 30 days, multiple entries, or business activities requiring a work permit, you will need to apply for a traditional visa at the Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate in Bucharest, Romania, or another country. This process typically involves additional documents and a longer processing time.
Types of traditional visas:
- Single entry visa: Valid for a stay of up to 3 months.
- Multiple entry visa: Valid for multiple entries within a specific period (3 months, 6 months, or 1 year).
- Business visa: Required for engaging in work-related activities in Vietnam.
3. Visa on Arrival (VOA):
In very limited cases, Romanian citizens may be eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport or Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. However, this process is subject to availability and may involve long waiting times.
Important Notes:
- Double-check visa requirements and application procedures on the official Vietnam Immigration Department website or through a reputable visa agency.
- Ensure your passport has at least 6 months of validity remaining beyond your intended departure date from Vietnam.
- Complete all application forms accurately and provide the required documents.
- Pay visa fees on time and through authorized channels.
- Allow sufficient time for visa processing, especially for traditional visas.

Hello,
At the beginning of January I will visit Vietnam for 7 days. The entrance in Vietnam will be from the Cambodian side, and I will cross Moc Bai border.
Please tell me if I can apply for a tourism visa at the embassy in Bucharest and also I would like to know what are the required documents.
I already applied for the visa on the following site: visa.mofa. gov. vn/Homepage.aspx but it is not clear for me what are the next steps.
Thank you and looking forward for your answer.
